Description: This painting was inspired by a late fall trip to the beach. The combination of the sunbathers and the rough, fall-green sea appealed to my "reality with a twist" sensibilities. The technique I used to paint this is new. It uses a medium I've always loved, watercolor, with a canvas substrate that is coated with a clear acrylic coating to protect it from wear, UV, and water. Thus, it combines the best of both worlds - allowing the work to be hung without a mat or glass.
