Autumn at the Castle Large abstract Description: This large, abstract, piece of "walkable art" was inspired by a trip to Burr Castle. Because this piece is painted in acrylic on a sisal rug, it could be placed in a light use area as a rug, but generally, I mount it on a 1" x 3" board and treat it like a wall hanging: hence the term "walkable" art. Although it's an abstract, the placement and choice of colors easily bring to mind a sun-drenched autumn day by a stream. For those of you who are wondering, Burr Castle is in central Ireland and is famous for its gardens, giant telescope, and technical museum. In fact, it is the place where spiral galaxies were first discovered. |
