I painted Cyclmen on Oilcloth the last time we lived in Ireland for the year. I had bought a beautiful, modern oilcloth for my kitchen table, and I realized that it would make a great background for a series of paintings honoring Ireland's excellent produce. This Oilclothseries soon grew into more than that - as you can tell because while one can find cyclamen in Irish woods, this is a hothouse variety. I so loved the pattern on that oilcloth that I think I'd still be adding it today. But, I left it with a friend who loved it when we returned to the States because I assumed I could easily replace it. I regret to say that I have been wrong so far. Hope springs eternal, however, that I'll find something similar to inspire me in the same way once again.
